Mumbai’s daily commute gets a major infrastructure boost as Chembur Metro Station on Metro Line 2B and Phase 2 of the Santacruz-Chembur Link Road (SCLR) were inaugurated on August 13. FPJ brings you a ground report from Chembur Metro station and the newly opened SCLR stretch, looking at what has changed for commuters and how the new connectivity could impact travel between Mumbai’s eastern and western corridors. The SCLR Phase 2 project completes a crucial missing link and is expected to improve connectivity between the Eastern Express Highway, Chembur, Kurla, Kalina, BKC and the Western Express Highway. The Chembur Metro station extends Metro Line 2B connectivity and is also planned to offer easier interchange with the Monorail network.
