A European Union police officer has been shot dead in northern Kosovo. It is the first fatality suffered by the EU mission known as EULEX since it deployed in 2008.
The Lithuanian officer was killed in a mainly Serb region where tensions persist despite an accord between Kosovo and Serbia.
No group has claimed responsibility for the shooting.
