My toy poodle Fudge I trained using "The Secrets to Dog Training Guide", shows no fear of wild eels we came across while camping in the South Island, New Zealand. I kept her on the leash for safety reasons as she was determined not to share the bread I was feeding the eels.
The irony is that once the eels swam away she showed no further interest in the bread.
