A trumpet blast of daffodils.
a brassy fanfare greets the sun.
Proclaims the end of winters chills,
they raise the hopes of everyone.
Shy snowdrops were the first to show
then the bright crocus follow suit.
The spring sunshine bade winter go.
New growth runs riot underfoot.
The trees are donning their spring dress
bare branches sprouting leaves of green.
Each tree determined to impress
its brand of beauty on the scene.
When Mother Nature waves her wand
the world becomes a wonderland.
