We lost this country when mass media took over
Leaving us behind for corporate pastures of clover
They feed us the lies that they want us to hear
Telling us what to buy or to wear or to fear
All of this orchestrated through a corporate name
And we only have ourselves as consumers to blame
Even our elected officials vote the corporate way
They don’t seem to listen to the words we say
They promise to do their all to keep our taxes low
Then vote themselves a raise and we have no right to say no
When did serving your nation become all about the money
If you stop and think about it, it’s really not that funny
If we continue to lose our voices I’m afraid we’ll all be fated
To living in a nation “THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” now incorporated.
“closing thought”
Give me the days when an honest politician shook your hand
Then went to capital hill to back your words and take your stand
