Downtown this dude in a ratty army coat walked up to me and gave me a piece of paper and said:
' This prophet, he's kind of like a hero around here. gets all the cats together and lays it down. He's a new religion man.'
On the paper these words:
I don't pay attention to everything
it's a gift
I was born with it
if I say that I may care
it really means that

I could die
or win the free vacation
or choke
on a lobster shell
It's all the same to me
sand and dust
beer and ashes
drugs and wishes
Promise and Death

Every day I am

- a agitation spoke
- a messenger
- a placebo wino
Every day I become
- a liar
- a eyesore
- a dictator
- a misfit
