Long ago... not so long ago...
I had this dream...that I could fly.....
But I never flew...and I never knew...
What’s it’s like to kiss the sky....
So in my dreams...
I spread my wings....
I try to stay alive
I can’t fly....
My dreams can....
To taste the freedom I strive...
Day in and out
Round about....
People pass me by
The ones I love....
The treasure trove
They come and ask me “Why? ”
They do not know
The pain and sorrow
I leave behind when I go...
I’m dying to kiss the sky above....
But then they’ll never know
Deep inside
A feeling resides
A feeling that will take me high.....
But I never flew...and I never knew...
