Where shall I see you this morning?
Your vision a blur in my head
Try as I might to sleep well last night
I was tossing and turning instead
Your face was so far in the distance
I reached but could not hold you near
I yearn for your touch, am I asking too much
The creaking of bedsprings I hear
Slowly I rise from my slumbers
Robbed once again of my sleep
This can’t be right, you stay from my sight
When you know of this vigil I keep
Why do you hide from my seeing?
Know well you have nothing to fear
I’ll be back tonight, ever searching for sight
Of the dream girl I want to hold near
