Violin
I was too young to appreciate
Too young to value
Its worth, its ability
Its power to change
Our soul our mind
Its easily swayed,
Like the meadows in the wind
by the authority of this mysterious thing
But still, Furious and Enraged
I chimed in retort vile words
Refusing to play, but still I must
With an iron mind I refused to be controlled by This wooden contraption
Like a privileged brat
I undermine my parents love
And I showed no gratefulness
No affection, felt even hatred for this hopeless device
But as the pendulum swung
I began to realize
Like the snow thawing in spring
How incredible, exhilarating it could be
And I began to adore
not able to let it go
It talks only through sounds
Soothes without saying a word
I no longer play with hatred
No longer feel oppressed
I no longer show ungratefulness
All day music lives inside of me
All day music is inside my head
