Beautiful brown eyes
Curly locks of dark black hair
Skin as smooth as silk itself
A voice so pure and innocent
Lips full of passion and trust
Love unmatched yet guidance lost
A look into her eyes tells me the cost
We sit along the beach on a mild night
As the cool wind tells us this won’t last
Time has passed and eroded our foundation
The foundation that was so strong
It wasn’t as long as I had hoped
But direction was lost long ago
Treading along behind that fake smile
It will end in a short while
Passion turns into lust and denial
We can’t hold on anymore
So fate eventually closes our door
I may know why it went so wrong
Perhaps it was me all along
I'll weep over what I thought should be
Although it was really never meant to be
