The fear of emotion
Intensity and confusion
They swirl around all the time
But my heart flutters and almost stops
Hearing that voice puts me in a pause
What do I say next?
What should I ask?
My mind is in a flurry
Thoughts so unlike me arise
Why could I not stay stone
Unmoving and unfeeling?
But I know it will fade,
Just like everything else.
I wish that presence would leave
Not make me hope
Not make me think of a future
I want normal, no adventures
No heartbreak!
Leave me alone, stay away
Help me.
