Stronger than brandy
So unfathomable and intriguing
Turning a man to some candy
When it inundates his garden
And grips him like a stolid muscular cop
Nabbing a suspect from the rear
It washes away all vestiges of inhibition
And shuts down care of the world
And plants man on the track of obedience
As a bridled ploughing mule
So he can increase and multiply
To dominate his intractable milieu
But it gives him unfettered utterance
Like a notorious prattling drunk
Vending stale gossip
For just a free cup of palmwine
Causing him to chirp and sing merrily
Like a jubilant canary
That stumbles on a ripe berry
As he effortlessly ascends the cliff of pleasure
Paradise’s next door neighbour
Where bliss has a short reign
While worry and stress rare guests
Freeing him only when its super brew
Is served and consumed.
