I’m surrounded
By your ashes
Once cherished relics
Now cluttering my home
A layer thick as soot
I will bury you
In plastic bags and shoe boxes
On the top shelf, hall closet
Behind the worn blankets
And faded sheets
Where I can’t reach you
Then I will be rid of you
A passing madness
Cured
Long last.
