i'm counting stairs up to library
where all computers on display
they're selling for cheaper price
to subsidize upgrade and more
i must be early it's still in boxes
i have no knife but credit card
i see an elderly lady looking
at listing and prices; counting
her fingers; staring up ceiling
i wonder what she is thinking
i hope she got enough to buy
then suddenly 'she said hi'
