I dare you to change me, to turn me around
I'm a package already sent, a ball of string tightly wound.
I live to laugh, to love, to smile
I try to cry only once in awhile.
I'll climb to the top of a very tall tree
To yell to the world I'm no one but me.
I refuse to pretend I'm anyone else
I'll never be anyone but my own self.
I love to play soccer, to kick the ball hard
To watch it fly over my front yard.
I try to kick it into the net
High and hard like a speeding jet.
I try to smile on the hardest of days
And cheer people up many ways.
I refuse to doubt and frown
No matter how big of a let down.
Life is very very fun
Interesting things always there to be done.
Everyday is something new, a corner to be turned
Many things to be noticed, many things to be learned
But everyday I promise to
Keep a difference between me and you.
There is only one thing I can ever be
And that one thing is just plain me.
