Little bird
perched on
The highest branch
Of a leafless tree
Keeps a watch
On the neighborhood
Knows all people
Their activities
Their successes
Their failures
And troubles
And so on.
The black bird
Sitting on
The top of the pole
Constantly looks
At the traffic
On the road
What passers do
Where people go
Who's law abiding
Who violates the rules
All recorded as
Retina image.
The hawk flying
High in the sky
Could locate a rodent's
Slightest movement
Down on the ground
Keeps mental record
Of freshness of air
Rivers and lakes
Trees and hills
Sky view of buildings
Ways of people
Their triumphs
And tribulations.
One must have
A bird's eye view
To spot the problems
And identify the needy
With a careful watch
And judicious thought
Try to make it possible
To extend to all
Who need some help
Warmth of the heart
And stretch out
A helping hand.
