Enclosed and trapped by night, I cringed then wept,
While lucky to escape were thoughts for you,
When through a slit, so narrow, they had crept;
And wished I that towards your dreams they flew;
As I have longed to frolic in the sun,
Free spirit of the wild I surely am,
All my shackles will have to be undone,
Lest they render life no more than a sham;
But I became a prisoner of yours,
When strapped to memories of love we've known,
Bound to the vows of heart that still adores,
Which endured Time as though chiseled in stone;
......Yet in such prison I delight to be,
......Should guards withdraw, nary will I break free.
