A chikungunya outbreak was declared in Puerto Rico last week by the Department of Health, following the confirmation of about 200 cases and because of the lack of antibodies among the population for being a new illness. It is transmitted by the same mosquito than dengue. A protocole and an administrative order were activated in order to take care of these cases that are spreading throughout the region. teleSUR
