Ayaz Latif Palijo (Sindhi اياز لطيف پليجو) is a Pakistani politician, lawyer, activist, writer and teacher. Paleejo was born in Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan, to a Baloch mother, the women's rights activist, writer and artist Jeejee Zarina Baloch, and a South Asian leftist Sindhi father and founder of Awami Tahreek, Rasool Bux Palejo.
Ayaz Lateef Plejo is the President of Qomi Awami Tahreek (National Peoples Movement), Central Convener and Founder of Sindh Progressive Nationalist Alliance (SPNA). Palijo is frequently guest speaker and consultant of several international forums and organisations including Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD). Ayaz Latif Pelijo was born in Hyderabad Sindh. He attended Model School, Old-campus, Sindh University, Hyderabad. His parents are Rasool Bux Palijo and Zarina Baloch 1934–2005.
Under the guidance of his mother Zarina Baloch, he became fluent in Sindhi, Balochi and Urdu as a teenager, and later became conversant in English, Seraiki, Punjabi and Persian languages.
Palijo is a graduate of Civil Engineering from Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, and a graduate of law from Sindh University, Jamshoro, Pakistan. He has done his graduation in environment and development from LEAD Int. at University of British Columbia, Vancouver; Ayaz also possess MSc in Rural development from SU and Wye College, United Kingdom. He secured 1st position in LL.M. across the whole of Sindh.
He founded Sujaag Bar Tahreek, Sindh Water Committee, Sindh Progressive Nationalist Alliance, Awami Lawyers Forum, Awami Khidmat Foundation, Awami Ilmi Adabi Forum, Awami Doctors and Engineers Forum and Sindhi Nojawan Tahreek. He has introduced a new nonviolent trend of democratic struggles in Sindh by way of Mohabbat-e-Sindh rallies and Long Marches.
He is a well-known Sindhi leftist nationalist leader, active since 2007. His main contribution is to unite a large number of Sindhi nationalist & leftist activists under the banner of Awami Tahreek (Peoples Movement) and SPNA. He escaped assassination attempt on 22nd May 2012.
At present he is practising as a leading constitutional lawyer of Sindh High Court, Hyderabad, Pakistan. He was at the forefront of the lawyers' movement that restored of Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, he offered court arrest after the imposition of emergency by General Pervez Musharraf & achieved fame as a supporter of the lawyers movement. He is so popular in Politics that even the followers of G M Syed, Bashir Khan Qureshi, Dr Qadir Magsi, Jalal Mahmood Shah, Imran Khan, Nawaz Sharif, Shafi Burfat, Asif Zardari, Benazir Bhutto, Bilawal, Fatima, Ghinwa, Mumtaz, Marvi, Zulfiqar Mirza, Uzair Jan Baloch, Siraj ul Haq, Sassui, Asfndyar Wali, Marwi, Naz, Maryam, Nusrat Abbasi, Shazia Mari, Altaf Hussain & members of PPP, PMLN, PTI, JSQM, League, MQM, Taliban, JSMM, STP, JI, JUI, ANP and different muslims hindus groups of Jeay Sindh Seyed qaumi & peoples party love to listen to him.
