Madrid, Oct 29 (EFE), (Camera: Jesús Bartolome).- Real Madrid's Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti said he does not consider remarks by midfielder Xavi Hernandez after El Clasico "disrespectful", but stressed that his team does not depend only on counter attacks, as suggested by the Barcelona player.
In comments Wednesday at a press conference before his team meets modest Cornella in the Spanish Cup's round of 32, Ancelotti said "Xavi's comments are the opinion of a great player, who has extraordinary experience. But it's an opinion".
"It's clear that Madrid's counter-attack is tremendous, but what we try to do is not just that, but to keep good control and possession, which has to be effective to find attacking solutions. That's what we're trying to do and what we did against Barcelona", he said of the match Real Madrid won by 3-1.
But he insisted Xavi's remarks were not disrespectful.
