Life gets heavier
With age
Every joint
Develops
Unbearable pain
Opening a child-proof
Bottle cap
Turns into
A nightmare
Never thought
Buttoning a shirt's
So difficult.
One must live
The way one is
With frightening pain
And fond memories
Bottle turns
Old and fragile
But the spirit
Of the soul
Glows with hope
Ever amazed
About the gift
Of life.
