Standing at the station
Waiting in the rain
It's been a long time
Hoping to see you again
The first time we met
In a small country town
You smiled at me
My heart started to pound
I remember well
It was hot that day
You started to talk
My eyes fell in to a gaze
Your lips moved
Couldn't hear what you were saying
My mind was a blur
My speech was decaying
All I wanted
Was to be with you
For the rest of our lives
With love that's new
Little did I know?
What was to come?
You would end up
On the run
I kept all the letters
You sent to me
Kept them in a box
Under an Oak tree
Yearning for the day
That you would return
But you never came
My heart forever burns
