The last rose of summer -
How sweet the smell,
How precious the final bloom,
A treasure,
To be held in memory,
To last through the long cold winter,
And the single crystal dewdrop,
Holding a myriad rainbow of greens -
Finally reflecting
The red, red rose,
The last rose of summer.
