The moment I opened the door
That smile that melted my heart
Showed up in a Mickey Mouse jacket;
Tall, blonde, with blue mosaic eyes -
Thank You God!
I'd seen you from a distance
Standing there like some Greek god -
What star did you fall from?
Landing there in my parking lot
Innocently catching my eye;
Should I check you out?
Would you even be interested?
I'll just dropp off a card and ask,
'Coffee, wine or conversation -
Call me if you're unattached.'
The old guy across your hall
Called to say 'Hello! '
'I'd like to come over for that glass of wine.'
'Thank you for the invitation! '
Who is he kidding?
I think I made a big mistake -
Put the card on the wrong door!
The Greek god lives across the hall -
'I'm sorry, that was intended for your neighbor.'
'No, just throw it away.'
Feeling like a complete fool -
I'll never do that again!
Two days later the card goes into the mailbox
This time I got the right name!
When you finally get it right.............Priceless!
