Rainbows shone all through the sky, but still, I seemed to wonder why
I was so happy; elated; free: why you were still standing next to me.
Melodies sang to me all around, I stopped; I listened to the beautiful sound
I was relaxed; at ease; in peace: forgetting the worries I had to release.
The world rushed by and it left me there, leaving me stranded, without a care
But I felt calm; in a whole new place: a look of bewilderment upon my face.
I felt the wind; it lifted me high, high above and into the sky
I let it take me far away, and you came too, and together we’d stay.
But then came a voice that whispered to me, telling me something I could not see
“Open your eyes, ” it sighed, so deep: “there’s only so much that you can keep.”
And then I was falling, falling down, I felt so stupid, I felt a clown
I should have realised, I should have known: but without you I’m noting; unsafe; alone.
I knew that soon, it would all float away: this friendship, it couldn’t possibly stay
You’d grow up; you’d move on and I’ll miss you, I’ll miss you…
…And then, you were gone.
