You came to me with open arms
And a bottle of wine under your jacket?
Those nights we loved with pure desire
The fleeting moments hot as fire
Breathless in your warm embrace
You traced the angles of my face
And gazed on me with longing eyes
My temperature began to rise
You dipped your finger in the wine
Then traced my lips, your touch divine
So sensual, your thoughts were clear
And then you whispered in my ear,
'I want you......................'
Do you recall the way we danced
Naked - how our minds were tranced
The world outside no longer there
It meant so much that you would dare
To risk it all to be with me
For love - my kiss could set you free
And though I knew you could not stay
My inner child came out to play
So innocent, yet wild and free
I let you have your way with me
So many times you tempted fate
To hold me close, you couldn't wait
To share with me your hopes and dreams
You loved me then but now it seems...............
So long ago and far away
And yet the love's still here today
At least for me, deep in my heart
The memories remain a part
Of everything I am today -
Oh, how I wished that you would stay
But you moved on, I could not hold
Your love, and now your heart is cold,
That heart that once had opened wide
And beckoned me to come inside,
That heart that meant the world to me
Somehow was never meant to be....................
