Happy-go-lucky is what I’d like to be
From sorrow and pain, I’d like to be free
Day in and day out, I’d laugh and smile…
Humorous anecdotes I would happily dial
After awhile I would be tickled into a stupor
Nothing could be more appealing or super
If everything could be entertaining and comical
The satisfying rewards could be astronomical
There couldn’t be a possible downside to this wish
After all, what more would be left to accomplish?
No desire would exit to see past the windowpane…
To see a beautiful sunset or pouring down of rain
Perhaps my vision was not as keen as first thought
Tears of laughter can blur the quest that was sought
A life that is memorable is one with many contrasts
Sometime we need sadness, to appreciate what lasts
