Flat sun baked bricks meander forming a path
allowing one person to walk behind another
Snaking through a garden that stirs sneezes
Marigolds of joyful orange and brilliant yellow
Geranium globes of flashing stoplight crimson
Daisies mesmerize with a smile that pleases
Inviting Painted Ladies and enchanted Monarchs…
with fluttering wings of iridescent grandeur
Beating rhythmically upon gentle warm breezes
Landing ever so lightly with perceptive feet
upon delicate sprays of brightly colored petals
Resting momentarily; leaving a kiss that teases
A tall, prickly purple thistle grows imposingly
while flitting wings lift as though on a string
Fading into the sky as concentration releases
