Holding hands with misery
we walk through mist
heading towards
nowhere.
Stroking the Black Dog
I kiss it's muzzle,
embrace cold heartbeat,
walk it by my side.
Making love to despair
we swim in sorrow
gently lapping teardrops
like waves.
Playing fetch with the Black Dog
it retrieves, then runs
away with my smile
until tomorrow.
