SEEK NOT,
a pretty face,
Chaste as Minerva,
gorgeous as the Belgian lace,
starry eyes flashing fires
Body an Adonis attire.
Hair a tawny hue,
Voice a honey tinged dew
And crystal brows the moons despair
And eyes Hadraneil’s* pair.
Lips that seem like roses fed
And cheeks
A tinge of vermeil red.
SEEK INSTEAD,
a mind pure and smooth
facing the sun of divine truth.
A sea of calm desires,
draped in cool heavenly fire.
Heart with lots of love entwined,
A breath that jingles with soothing wind.
Words with softer music speaks,
Golden notes of Beethoven reeks.
Corals beneath the oceans dream,
Gems of emeralds,
rubies, sapphires in stream.
A tender heart, a loyal mind,
kin to heavenly kind.
A steadfast friend, which I can trust,
as lasting pyramids in time’s gust.
In his copious bosom
pour my penurious heart of woes,
the swarming bees
play hide and seek
and murmur with the rose.
Where, these are not,
I shall refrain
From arcadian pleasures
much acclaimed,
Oaks fall when reed stands
For Christmas comes but once a year
P.S. * Hadraneil -He is the angel of love, who is the gatekeeper of the second gate in heaven and he awakens our memory of eternal love.
