In the redemption of my life
The sensate played first violin
The presence of a beauty unspoken, unheard
The color of flowers with eternal call - silent
That played across the adult years of gray
With its splotches of black and turquoise and gold
Until the bankrupt soul,
Like a chick pecking out of its shell
Breaks forth into light
An intimation of life and death and light
Unnamed beyond our present darkness.
