A Long Time Ago
The mountain was green
And the river flowed gently
There were leaves and flowers
And pines grew intently
But now the mountain
Stands stark and bare.
And the calm blue waters
Are no longer there.
The pines and flowers
Are now dust in the breeze
And now there are rocks
Where there used to be trees
Long ago
The wild was mighty
And thrived on its own
But now there is nothing
Except for dust and stone
