I went to the ocean
for a day
the waves and the sand
kept melancholy at bay
soaking and burning
in this salt
water pot
cleansing my soul
when God would not
my life
in pieces
scattered across
a barren land
I was baptized
in the Ocean
where the heavens
meet the sand
