The past 's sunken eyes
hold the fortress against
a bright tomorrow
as the decible levels arise.
The coals struggle to vainly climb
when gray ashes are a destiny.
Sozzled walls sway, where
the pulses grow on beaten time.
The night sky framed, return
on the window panes, won't stay.
The stars shall sink into the
spirited sea, one by one
Sparkling eyes await to arrest soon
the new sun tomorrow. Hopes shall
renew as spirits soar and curtains
prepare to fall on a pale moon.
Resolves of past, like coals
of yesterday give in to ashes.
Tomorrow belongs to the wind
it shall light the fire again that plays.
