Anger flowing through me,
fighting to be free.
I pull it in.
I push it down.
I lock it deep inside of me.
Though this cause pain,
slowly driving me insane,
I keep it in,
deep inside,
so I may not cause another's pain.
Others see my happy mask,
not knowing of my painful task.
I smile as I scream.
I laugh as I weep.
None see past the mask.
I bury myself in my stories.
Horrors hidden within glories.
Pen as sword.
Ink as blood.
Sorrows hidden in romance stories.
Sometimes I wonder if the only way to flee
from this anger is to cause myself to bleed.
I shudder at the sight
of that frightful knife.
This is not the way to flee.
I will never tell another.
Why make myself a bother?
I suffer in silence
for it is my way
to get myself through another
day.
