Mexico: Over 2000 Changes Made to Homicide Data

A Mexican NGO reported on Wednesday that it has detected a high degree of modifications made to official statistics on high-impact crimes. They say that more than 2,000 changes were detected to data throughout the country. Meanwhile, conflicting figures have recently been reported between government statistics and those of some NGOs, who say that the rate of kidnappings has dropped substantially, while the rate of homicides has risen.
