This woman, chained to bed and working as a slave, was reportedly sold into slavery by her husband to a local contractor for just under 500 dollars. Pakistani police officers freed the woman, named Meran, from her chains after conducting an operation in the Punjab region. Meran was kept chained for one month to a bed and compelled to work by the contractor, who beat her severely and left significant wounds on both her legs.
