Pavarësisht debateve mbi këtë vendim te kryeministrit Sali Berisha, 1 mije qengjat e pavarësisë janë bere tashme kurbani i festes se 100 vjetorit. Përgjatë gjithë javës se kaluar bagëtitë janë therur ne thertoret e licencuara ne Tirane dhe ne rrethe te tjera.
Fillimisht u përfol se therja e tyre do te behej ne shesh, por kjo do te ishte jashtë çdo kushti higjeno-sanitar, duke rrezikuar shpërndarjen e ndonjë epidemie. Sipas burimeve nga ministria e bujqësisë kafshët janë dhurate nga vete fermerët apo janë blere me donacione nga bizneset private me rastin e festes se pavarësisë. Pasi janë mbajtur ne kushte frigoriferike, qengjat e therur kane kaluar ne administrimin e bashkise se Tiranes, e cila po mban te fshehte mënyrën e shpërndarjes se tyre dhe vendin ku mendohet se do te piqen. Mësohet se qengjat do te shpërndahen te paketuar ne pjese, te mërkurën gjate festimeve te 28 nëntorit. Por nen masa te rrepta epidemiologjike është shoqëruar edhe përgatitja e tortës, nga eksperte shqiptare dhe italiane. Përfaqësuesit e shëndetësisë pohojnë se janë marre masa edhe për festimet e 28 nëntorit, për te evituar ndonjë epidemi te mundshme, për shkak te numrit te madh te njerëzve qe do te jene ne shesh.
