Kick Ass 2 - Balls to the Wall - Trailer - Movie Review: Mark Millar recently interview with Scotland's Daily Report and discussed some interesting ideas about how he was inspired to write the films.
The first film followed Dave Lizewski, an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan who one day decides to become a super-hero, even though he has no powers, training or meaningful reason to do so.
The writer spoke about where some of the second films inspiration came from:
"It's really odd. I watch the films and think, my God, that's what happened to me," he says." It is done subconsciously. Even daft things, like at school there was somebody I fancied who really liked Dynasty. I started watching it so that I could chat to her about it. That is in Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall. I gave Kick-Ass's parents the same names as my parents.
My dad and I were living alone together after my mum died when I was 14 and that's reflected in Kick-Ass. I grew up wanting to be a superhero. We shoot Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall and American Jesus this summer. Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall comes to theaters in 2013 and stars Aaron Johnson, Lyndsy Fonseca, Chloe Moretz, Clark Duke, Evan Peters.
