Footage has emerged of 32 wild elk that bizarrely became stuck in a canal being rescued by police and bystanders in China.
The video, captured in Yancheng, Jiangsu Province last month, shows the creatures stuck in the canal - some injured - as a temporary structure is built to allow them to exit.
According to local reports the rescue took five hours in total.
