During two days of violence in March 2004 in Kosovo and Metohija, 35 Orthodox churches and monasteries were destroyed.
Ten days later, on Easter, a group of Serb citizens from northern Kosovska Mitrovica visited remains of the destroyed St. Sava Church in the southern part of the town.
