NOAA scientists just discovered some creepy creatures down in the deep sea. Using a remotely operated vehicle, they studied deep-water reefs in American Samoa. The expedition was done at a protected marine sanctuary, where there had previously been very little exploration. They spotted at least a dozen rarely seen creatures, including a Venus flytrap sea anemone, a rare cosmic jellyfish, and an alien-like creature known as a hydroid. NOAA will continue this deep sea mission until April.
