So today, I was posed a question by a customer and they said: Can you calculate a payment on a house for me?
I was like: Of course!
So we went through the payment and they were shocked that it was much higher than what they were calculating by themselves online. I had to go over the variables that are not included on these online payment calculators. So, the variables are:
1- Your homeowner's insurance that does get included in your monthly House payment.
2- Your real estate taxes! That gets included as well.
3- And the third variable - which may not apply to everyone but it does to most- is that unless you're putting 20% down, you're most likely, going to pay what's called PMI.
So we went over the breakdown of the payment and shared a better understanding of what that house was actually going to cost her. So, just be cautious of quick mortgage calculators and have a good day!
