It has to be said Mercedes are totally on form right now; with road cars like the AMG GT R, E63 S and S600 Maybach, to 4 consecutive Formula 1 World Championships. On the horizon are cars like a 4 door AMG sports-saloon, the new G Class is imminent and the entire range are on point. However, you might have heard Jeremy Clarkson discussing on The Grand Tour whether the more powerful engine of the E63 S might find it's way into the GT R... will that happen?
Almost certainly if it does, it won't be a continuation of the Black Series as Mercedes report that the name will no long continue, but does the 585PS GT R even need more power in the first place? Order queues for the current epic car are already at 2 years, demand is high and production is limited, not to mention it is also an unbelievable capable and usable car.
