President Trump is completely aware of what his stand still is doing for the US government but he is refusing to back down. On Saturday President Trump announced on Twitter that he was continuing to negotiate with Democrats to put a stop to the U.S. government shutdown, adding that “it could be a long stay.” Trump admits the sticking point remains to be border security. Reuters reports Trump is demanding $5 billion in federal funds to help build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
