Food activists are up in arms against Planning Commission Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia for its affidavit setting the poverty line at Rs.32 per day per person for city-dwellers and Rs.25 for rural citizens. Aruna Roy and Harsh Mander, members of the Sonia Gandhi-led National Advisory Council, have also joined the Right to Food campaigners in demanding the withdrawal of the poverty line affidavit filed before the Supreme Court.
