Over 5,000 school students started a hunger strike on Saturday to oppose the demolition orders served to eight
schools in Malad's Malvani neighbourhood. These students joined 30 school principals who have been on a hunger
strike since Wednesday.Earlier, the principals' association had obtained a stay order on the demolitions from the
Bombay High Court on July 3. The court had set the matter for final hearing on July 13.
