The ANC secretary-general has defended family of government officials who want to do business with the state. Ace Magashule says Parliament has made it a point that MPs and government officials declare their businesses so that everything is clear and fair. The secretary-general’s sons are among those said to have benefitted from COVID-19 tenders. But, responding to these remarks, former Finance Minister, Trevor Manuel, says it is wrong for families of politicians and government officials to benefit from tender contracts.
