Nottinghamshire police caught a man wanted for beating a woman after they used a drone and found him hiding in the woods thanks to his heat signature, as this footage shows. Nottingham police are one of a growing number of police forces to use drones, and in this case, the footage shows how they used one to find the man, who was accused of assaulting a woman. Officers piloted the airborne camera using its heat source tracking capabilities and found following a report of the assault and the offender running away from the scene. Nicky Chesters, 32, of Berry Hill Lane in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, pleaded guilty to actual bodily harm, assault on an emergency worker and criminal damage at Nottingham Crown Court last week. Chesters was sentenced to 11 months imprisonment, suspended for 24-months. The charges relate to a report of an assault in Clipstone in the early hours of 27th June where it was reported Chesters assaulted a woman, causing damage to a number of items within a house including fixtures and fittings. The injured victim rang 999 in distress following the incident, but Chesters had left the property.
