Today we will introduce you to robotics that makes the most of water and electricity. In short, these robots grow more crops with less waste.
The robots, developed by a Silicon Valley startup called Herero buoy, are integrated with a hydroponic system that allows plants to grow in a water-based solution. The system is believed to use 90% less water than traditional farms and 90% less electricity than vertical farms using LED lights.
The company now grows basil and strawberries, but with larger farms, the yield will be higher.
